Terms of Service
These terms govern the use of Escapement Studio ("the Application"), a personal application written and used by a single individual developer to produce original short-form videos and upload them to that developer's own YouTube channel using YouTube API Services.
1. Scope
The Application is not distributed, published, sold, sublicensed, hosted or otherwise made available to any third party. It has exactly one authorised user: its developer. These terms are published to document the conditions under which the Application operates and to satisfy the documentation requirements that apply to clients of YouTube API Services.
Because there is no third-party user, nothing in these terms should be read as an offer of a service, a licence to any other person, or an invitation to use the Application.
2. Description of the Application
The Application drafts a narration script from editorial briefs written by the developer, synthesises that script into speech, gathers licensed stock and generated imagery, adds captions and music, renders a vertical video with FFmpeg, and uploads the result to the developer's own YouTube channel through the YouTube Data API. It also posts one comment per video — written as part of that video's script — on that same video, and it can read aggregate performance metrics for the developer's own channel. 3. YouTube API Services
The Application uses YouTube API Services. By using it, the developer agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service and acknowledges the Google Privacy Policy. The developer also agrees to be bound by the YouTube API Services Terms of Service and the YouTube API Services Developer Policies.
How the Application handles data obtained through those services is set out in the Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable use
The Application is operated on the following conditions:
- It uploads only to the developer's own YouTube channel, using credentials issued for the developer's own Google account.
- It uploads only original material: newly written scripts, synthesised narration, and imagery, footage and music the developer is licensed to use. It never re-uploads, mirrors or re-edits another creator's video.
- It marks every upload as containing synthetic media, and marks every upload as not made for children.
- It enforces its own daily upload limit and will not exceed it, and it will not upload the same production run twice.
- It is not used to inflate metrics, generate artificial engagement, circumvent YouTube's systems, evade enforcement, scrape data, or access any account other than the developer's own.
- Its content is produced to comply with YouTube's Community Guidelines and monetisation policies, including the requirement that published content be original and add value rather than being mass-produced from a repeated template.
5. AI-generated and synthetic material
Parts of each video are produced with generative tools: the narration voice is synthesised, some imagery is generated, and the first draft of the script is produced by a language model working from the developer's briefs. The developer writes and maintains those briefs, sets the editorial rules, and remains fully responsible for everything the channel publishes. Every upload carries YouTube's synthetic-media declaration.
6. Third-party content and licensing
Stock footage and images are obtained through the APIs of stock media providers and used within those providers' licence terms. Music is used only under licences that permit the use; where a licence requires attribution, the Application inserts the credit line into the video description automatically. Third-party API keys are used within each provider's own terms of service.
7. Availability and changes
The Application is developed and modified continuously for the developer's own purposes. There is no service level, no uptime commitment, and no obligation to keep any behaviour, feature or interface unchanged. The Application may be modified, suspended or discontinued at any time without notice.
8. No warranty
The Application is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. Because the Application is not offered to anyone else, no warranty is given to anyone else.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer accepts no liability to any third party for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from the Application or from these terms. The developer bears sole responsibility for the operation of the Application and for the content published through it.
10. Termination
Authorisation for the Application can be withdrawn at any moment by revoking its access at https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions, after which it can perform no API operation of any kind. Google and YouTube may likewise suspend or terminate the Application's API access in accordance with their own terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions, and without limiting any rights or obligations arising under the YouTube API Services Terms of Service.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the Application changes. The revised version takes effect when it is published on this page, and the "Last updated" date at the top is changed accordingly.
